What the actual hell. i went to download 7.18 which is newest version and was shocked to see that i have to pay $10 to get it? 7.17 was released 55 days ago for early access. let us subtract 20 days from the 55 being generous and saying the patreons get access 20 days early, that leaves 35 days so it has been ( just based on the 35 days) and 7.18 is available to download but we have to pay $10? seriously? i already bought the game months ago.
no offense, but sorry not buying it again, if i wanted to have my pockets bled dry i would just stick to the nickel and diming of consoles and DLC.
no offense but really doesnt make sense to keep buying the game every update, i mean i couls see if it were a HUGE update with LOTS of content pushing it closer to full completion but i honestly dont see that with the majority of devs pushing small updates and/or updates that are just fixing small things like spelling ( which i honestly i have seem games have no spelling corrections at all and in a couple cases the spelling was WORSE LOL).
ANYway folks the game is good but their is somethign going on with it and/or the dev right now. dont get me wrong i messaged him through patreon and he seemed nice enough, but now with now being blocked on zaniths patreon and how there is no mention of 7.18 update except to downlod and only if you pay $10 ( meaning your previous $10 - $14 payment to download the game was just a waste of your hard earned cash .
with that said my recommentdation si DONT pay the $10 for 7.18, just wait it will either land free or wont but at the end of the day how many times are you going to or be willing to pay for an unfinished game.
i woudl be more willing to pay for a 100% completed game from these devs but constantly paying small amounts over time for unfinished product not so much.
i wrote all this because today i learned something about patreon and devs, these devs are raking in cash by the thoushands every month and the dev apparently can change version number and do nothign else and release it as an update meaning scam. i sent 5 games i got off patreon along with the newest "update" to be checked and all 4 came back the same the "update" was the exact same as previous with only the version number being changed. these 4 titles were reported to patreon along with their dev along with the evidence and thes devs as of earlier this afternoon have been removed from patreon but i digress this is about zanith and a house in the rift.

My mistake if this isn't what you were saying but you know the game is free right? And that you don't have to pay for the next updates you just have to wait until public access. Also if you want early access Zanith has a patreon that is $10 for the lowest tier of early access and completely optional (but very worth it in my opinion) monthly. Anyways bottom line you don't have to pay for any of the content that this game has to offer, you just gotta wait.
Purchasing the game gives you access to all future versions of the game. There should be an option at the bottom of "Download Now" that says "I've already paid for this" and you should be able to download the latest version.
Paying for the game monthly is completely optional and just a way for users to show their support in the development of the game.
The current schedule for builds of the game are as follows: The Alpha build of a new version is released at the start of each month. About a week later the Beta build is released. Then after another week the Early Access version is released. Then about a month later this version goes free and public. This is the Patreon schedule, it gets released everywhere else a bit later on during that month.
You can also check each post on both Itch and Patreon for a changelog of what gets added to each update.
A while back, it was voted in a majority that there would be smaller, monthly updates to the game over bigger updates that would take a lot longer to release.
I hope that clears up some confusion you may have had regarding the releases and such.

I'd make sure that the game hasn't corrupted during download or any anti-virus software has tried to quarantine the game too. Some anti-virus software can flag the game as a false threat.
Alternatively, if you're using the Itch app, you could try downloading the zip file on its own or try using the Itch app itself to see if that helps.

This is something on Itchs end where if the download is paused, idles for too long or tabbed out, it can cause the forbidden error to pop up.
If the error persists, you can try heading over to our Patreon to download the latest free version (which has a few mirrors to choose from). You'll need a Patreon account, but it can be a free one!
Usually, if you can't get a certain quest to trigger or progress, there's another quest you might need to do that involves the character(s) of the stuck quest.
Try doing that and it should fix the overlapping triggers!
Do you end up in a dominant position similar to the beginning of the game or the tone after rae finds out youre not hot shit is that way the rest of the game

Saves will carry over automatically! All you have to do is load up the new version and your saves should be ready to go!

You'll need to delete the "persistent" file both in the game folder and in your the Renpy folder.
Both are located in AHITR\Game\Saves and AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AHITR (both in the main folder here and "sync")
On Android you'll find it in "ahitr_storage" and inside the "sync" folder.
This should give you a clean gallery!
