Your saves should be located in "AHITR/Game/Saves" if you back up that entire saves folder, you can just drag n drop that saves folder into your game directory on your new PC.
You can transfer it in any preferred way (USB, Google Drive etc).
I must have missed something. I have no Quests open but in the Gallery the Spooning with Cait is locked. I read what it should be but i can't do anything to get to this point. What did i do wrong?
Whenever you ask Cait to come to your room at night, there should be an option "How about we try something different?" that should unlock the scene for you!

Hey guys, so i'm looking for advice on whether this is a bug or not because i have this quest i cannot complete despite performing the necessary criteria to complete it a multitude of times. The quest is learning about Naomi, specifically when she's at the counter and you offer her a whiskey from the fridge to listen to her pirate stories. The problem is that despite going through her entire dialogue, which is the exact same tavern story every single time(i've read it about 30 times at this point and am starting to lose it), the quest still remains the day after. I know it counted the other sub objectives associated with the quest because i was able to learn about her dad from sitting in the open doorway, which was designated under the same quest title but came much after the counter story objective. I've tried everything, from getting extra whiskey to even maxing out her intimacy and lewdness stats, but it will not count the objective as completed. i checked my inventory and while it would take a bottle around the start of the game, it has since no longer done that. I'm currently on lyriel's story path 90+ days into the game so it cannot be a lack of time investment either. if nothing changes, then i will just ignore the quest, which i already consider a last resort option. I hope someone can help me out in figuring out the problem
This is currently a bug we're looking into fixing. It shouldn't interfere with your progress with her story or other characters stories, but the quest will remain in your book for now.
You are correct. Just download the latest .rpa version of the game and place it where you did initially ( the "game" folder). Once placed, I'd recommend deleting the old .rpa file.
As someone who plays AVN's solely for the plots this has been an interesting one so far. I am aware that these games are mostly made for satisfying yourself so it would be fair if you're raising your eyebrow reading this. Now, without spoiling anything, this has to be one of the better sandbox AVN's out there. Usually sandbox AVN's are notorious for its lengthy, drawn out, and boring "in betweens" where you need to attain an obscene amount of goals before the plot progresses and fortunately the closest thing to an "in between" is the fridge and that is super easy to get by. Now as a sandbox type AVN it held itself up on the story conflicts pretty well, it wasn't perfect because it's inevitable if you have favorite characters that you wanted to interact with a lot more (non spoiler example is a character was supposed to not talk to me because of a disagreement but when this character was involved with another character's story, they're now talking to me like normal). The main story itself is pretty interesting and important to not get diluted in the plethora of character stories and dialogues throughout the game. As for the character stories it was pretty good too but of course I have story/stories which I didn't really clicked with and that's ok because it doesn't really force anything on you. As for the romance progression, it wasn't too fast but also not slow enough. The romance dynamics were also more on the organic side, it doesn't really turn everyone to a brainwashed and glorified sex toy like many other AVN's out there and that in itself is very good for me. I have to say though, this game wouldve been an awesome regular AVN because the direction of the stories were so good (Not to say that it's a bad sandbox game, plus I might be biased because i play more regular AVN's). On the technical side, it had very few problems like start up times are slow and if you slide down your phone's notifications it'll "minimize" the app a little bit and freezes. It sometimes crashes and it wipes autosaves for some reason. My phone is not a gaming phone per say but it's not bad either, it's a Redmi note 11 6gb version. To end my comment/rating/criticism (call it whatever you like) I'd like to say some advice. I did make some mistakes that made my playthrough worse and that is to accept all dreams as soon as they pop up. The journal kept on growing and some of them prevented some interactions that I wanted to interact with but then again that was a mistake on my part because I mostly play regular AVN's. So if you want a smooth sailing experience I'd say take your time on each of the characters and gauge whether you can afford to do so. Because it's better if you connect to them as smoothly as possible rather than them changing personalities because the individual story progressions aren't synced up. And yes I did redo the story from the top to come up with this advice and it was indeed more pleasant. That's all for me and thank you for a good story and a good game zanith! Hope all goes well

We are looking at ways to improve the Android experience down the road, but there's only so much that can be done within the limitation of the platform and the varying devices per user.

Been pretty much giving feedback to games I've played in the past because it has been my way to say thanks to the tireless developers who stick with their project/s even when irl stuff are getting harder and harder these days. About the story conflicts, they're really not that bad from my experience. I don't know it's just a schizo theory so don't take this personally lmao. (It was actually quite nice because I DND mode my phone to not get notifications lmao). Thank you again! The Alpha build of a new version is released at the start of each month. About a week later the Beta build is released. Then after another week the Early Access version is released. Then about a month later this version goes free and public. This is the Patreon schedule, so it gets released a tiny bit later on other sites.
As for how many updates remain for AHITR, I honestly couldn't say. We are currently on 7.13 so we do have a bit to go.
Aside from the sexual things in the game, they did a great job building the characters and their personalities. I actually like opening the game to see all of their faces, it might sound weird but bc there's no voiced acting it lets you determine how you and the others sound, also the fact that you can name your character i think puts a personal element to it. 10/10 game when it comes to character building and personalities. Can't wait for the updates, the story is too good.

When updating to a new version here on Itch, you'll need to download the full game. (Either from here or through the Itch client/launcher). Saves do carry over automatically.
If you've previously purchased the game, press "Download" and there should be an option at the bottom "I've already purchased" and it'll take you to the appropriate page for getting the latest version.
However, over on our Patreon we offer a "Patch" system that will take you from X version to X. For instance, here's the latest free version. You'll see the "PATCH from X". If you are using patches, you can only update High res patch for the high res game, and compressed for compressed, you can't mix and match.
Yeah so are you just screwed if you potentially missed certain H events? Cuz Im missing "Useless Mutt" and "Alchmical mishap" for Lyriel, I don't have "Pre-reveal service" somehow, and "Punk gal", "Special order", and "Milfing it up" are lost to me.
There are a few scenes that can be missed on a playthrough.
"Useless Mutt" is when you first start dipping into Lyriel's dreams where she's dreaming of being a slave.
"Alchemical Mishap" is related to an event in game that also unlocks for Cait.
"Pre-reveal Service" is when its just you and Rae in the house, when you visit her in the attic again.
"Punk-Gal" is at the very start of the game when you're chilling in the park.
"Special Order" is from the space dream and can be done at anytime.
And "MILFing It Up" is when you dream of the pool in the backyard for the first time and have a choice between Jenny and Vivian.
If you have missed these, I suggest to make a dummy save and just speed/skip through the game to those points if you wanna unlock them for your gallery. I know its not ideal but I hope these help pinpoint where to snag em!
Is there a way to unlock the alternate Jenny/Vivian choice for the gallery besides reloading a save prior to the event? That's what I did, but I'm not sure if you're saying there's a way to see both in-game that I missed around the time of the event.
Am I correct in assuming if I do the 8$ thing I'll have the latest versions always unlocked going forward? I don't want to pay for a singular version. And this is one of the few games worth paying for personally.
Heyo, I've decided to replay this game and I noticed some issues. "Eager student ch. 4" and "Manga Research Club pt. 2" don't progress no matter what. I completed every quest available and I also saw other comments regarding these issues, I believe some new update might have messed these quests up. I tried everything you offered in other comments, but they don't work no matter what. You have made an amazing game, just thought I should inform you on a potential issue :).
Heyo, hope I shared the right one, cause I have many lol. Should be day 198 morning. The Cait quest always has the door locked and the manga quest never starts as they are never in the room. I hope this helps you out.
I noticed similar issues with other characters. It could be that intimacy and/or lewdness are too low to kick off the progression event.
I had to suffer through the same boring (no offense intended) bar brawl story of hers 10 times or so until her intimacy was maxed out to kick off the next event.
Similarly, I had to "farm" other characters' events to get either lewdness and intimacy stats up and it is hella unclear what works for how long, which can be frustrating.
The Manga Research Club quest DEFINITELY hinges on Lyriels' Lewdness, I got the last couple of points by lightly smacking her ass on morning visits and commenting it with "couldn't help myself"
I havent gotten a new Cait mission in awhile, and I don't see a missions really interfering with Lyriels so idk. Is there a specfic mission I need to clear before doing or something?
save file was corrupted and i dont know why, usually yall are pretty good when it comes to save files being carried over through each update, but 333 days worth of gameplay are down the drain and im feeling discouraged to grind all of that again :/
Sorry to hear about the save issue. Its completely understandable to feel discouraged.
There will be two locations for your saves. One in the game folder (AHITR/Game/Saves) and (AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AHouseintheRift) (The Renpy folder acts as a sort of sync) - You could try seeing which save location is corrupted by maybe moving the saves to a temp folder, loading the game and trying the older folder etc.
If it is still corrupted, I do have a save that has everything up to 0.7.4 completed. I know its not ideal but it would get the ball rolling for you again.

Sometimes the downloads here on Itch can be a bit wonky. Also, if the the download gets interrupted or paused, it can cause the file to be corrupted.

I usually wait quite a long time to download a new version as I want there to be as much new content as possible.

You may have to manually move your saves.

When updating to a new version here on Itch, you'll need to download the full game. (Either from here or through the Itch client/launcher). Saves do carry over automatically.
If you've previously purchased the game, press "Download" and there should be an option at the bottom "I've already purchased" and it'll take you to the appropriate page for getting the latest version.
However, over on our Patreon we offer a "Patch" system that will take you from X version to X. For instance, here's the latest free version. You'll see the "PATCH from X". If you are using patches, you can only update High res patch for the high res game, and compressed for compressed, you can't mix and match.

If however, you are several patches behind and somehow the patch system doesn't work, you're better off just grabbing a fresh, full download.

Yeah so are you just screwed if you potentially missed certain H events? Cuz Im missing "Useless Mutt" and "Alchmical mishap" for Lyriel, I don't have "Pre-reveal service" somehow, and "Punk gal", "Special order", and "Milfing it up" are lost to me.

There are a few scenes that can be missed on a playthrough.
"Useless Mutt" is when you first start dipping into Lyriel's dreams where she's dreaming of being a slave.
"Alchemical Mishap" is related to an event in game that also unlocks for Cait.
"Pre-reveal Service" is when its just you and Rae in the house, when you visit her in the attic again.
"Punk-Gal" is at the very start of the game when you're chilling in the park.
"Special Order" is from the space dream and can be done at anytime.
And "MILFing It Up" is when you dream of the pool in the backyard for the first time and have a choice between Jenny and Vivian.
If you have missed these, I suggest to make a dummy save and just speed/skip through the game to those points if you wanna unlock them for your gallery. I know its not ideal but I hope these help pinpoint where to snag em!
Is there a way to unlock the alternate Jenny/Vivian choice for the gallery besides reloading a save prior to the event? That's what I did, but I'm not sure if you're saying there's a way to see both in-game that I missed around the time of the event.

Lewdness is doing or saying/mentioning lewd stuff, but is primarily levelled through sexual activities.
Intimacy is like hanging out with the gals and doing activities with them.
Some events/quests require you to be at certain levels in each, so its best to level them whenever you can!
Am I correct in assuming if I do the 8$ thing I'll have the latest versions always unlocked going forward? I don't want to pay for a singular version. And this is one of the few games worth paying for personally.

Heyo, I've decided to replay this game and I noticed some issues. "Eager student ch. 4" and "Manga Research Club pt. 2" don't progress no matter what. I completed every quest available and I also saw other comments regarding these issues, I believe some new update might have messed these quests up. I tried everything you offered in other comments, but they don't work no matter what. You have made an amazing game, just thought I should inform you on a potential issue :).

We will also have a fix for this in the next patch too.
I noticed similar issues with other characters. It could be that intimacy and/or lewdness are too low to kick off the progression event.
I had to suffer through the same boring (no offense intended) bar brawl story of hers 10 times or so until her intimacy was maxed out to kick off the next event.
Similarly, I had to "farm" other characters' events to get either lewdness and intimacy stats up and it is hella unclear what works for how long, which can be frustrating.
The Manga Research Club quest DEFINITELY hinges on Lyriels' Lewdness, I got the last couple of points by lightly smacking her ass on morning visits and commenting it with "couldn't help myself"

You may need to progress the main story (if you haven't already). You might need to progress the other gals quests too.
Usually if a quest isn't triggering, the gal (or gals) are overlapping with each other. Its kinda like untangling a string.

save file was corrupted and i dont know why, usually yall are pretty good when it comes to save files being carried over through each update, but 333 days worth of gameplay are down the drain and im feeling discouraged to grind all of that again :/

Sorry to hear about the save issue. Its completely understandable to feel discouraged.
There will be two locations for your saves. One in the game folder (AHITR/Game/Saves) and (AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AHouseintheRift) (The Renpy folder acts as a sort of sync) - You could try seeing which save location is corrupted by maybe moving the saves to a temp folder, loading the game and trying the older folder etc.
If it is still corrupted, I do have a save that has everything up to 0.7.4 completed. I know its not ideal but it would get the ball rolling for you again.
