The new download is a folder as its own separate thing. So you can boot the game up, your saves will automatically sync over and you can delete the old folder.
I've been playing this game for a while now and just downloaded the latest version, idk if I updated the game properly (just deleted the old rpa file and put in the new one) , sorry for any inconvenience
not sure from when they are, but do the dream sequences cause problems? I had it with the blue haired girl just now, some sort of loading problem maybe if you roll back somehow I actually just left the room and was trying out something.
We currently have no reports of the dreams causing issues, but corrupt downloads can cause some content to be missing/not playing properly. It can also be down to the individual device too. You can try changing the renderer (Shift + G), save and restart the game.
If that doesn't work, I'd recommend a possible clean installation/reinstall and see if it helps!
I'm stuck on day 2 Wednesday Night it tells me i cant go to sleep yet but once i try to leave out the room its say no reason to roam the at night i don't know what to do.
If you showered early game you'll be soft locked. This was a bug that was fixed for 0.7.16r4 - You'll either need to reload a save or start a new game!
We actually do over on Patreon! It'll patch from X version to X. If you're several versions behind I'd recommend just grabbing a full download instead.
But can u please put more "Do" option, not add more but now i can choose the first option of "Do". Example: when i max Cait's "do" steal cereal, i only can do the last one, and when i want to watch the first time i steal and i didnt save the game at that time, i dont know how to watch back.

When opening the game on android after adding the .rpa file it crashes (i tried redownloading both launcher and rpa file) also its the compressed version
Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues getting the game up and running.
If you haven't, please make sure the launcher has all the necessary permissions granted. Disabling and re-enabling permissions can also help.
Also make sure the .rpa is inside the "game" folder, having it "ahitr_storage" won't work.
Alternatively you can try downloading from Patreon as Itch can be a bit funky sometimes. This is the latest free version (You'll need a Patreon account but it's free to sign up)
If all else fails, you could grab JoiPlay app and grab the PC version of AHITR and run it that way. Can't guarantee it'll work but that's a possible workaround.

We have lewd sounds and voice acting in a dream (Which is in v0.7.16, that dropped as a free version on Patreon, dropping on Itch later this month) and in and another dream, we have a scene with lewd sounds.
We look at and discuss sounds in the game every so often but its not a top priority for the game right now.
Just thought I'd say, legitimately a great lewd vn game. Characters are cool and are interesting and the H content is plentiful. Im glad, at least from what I can see, you cant miss content, although once I was asked by someone to go somewhere and im pretty sure I lost Intimacy, if intentional I guess its fine since it only happened to me one time in my whole playthrough.
I will say however sometimes its annoying how often I found myself stuck on doing evenings and being unable to do certain evening events due to special events and/or due to the amount of evening events compared to other times and scheduling between them being unavailable. Maybe it was incredibly rare that it happened to me as much as it did and it wasnt game breaking, I dont have much criticism so this was pretty much it so I thought id mention it.
Also am I missing something or can we never go out at night? I was waiting for some kind of "meet me here" for some scene or some ritual. Maybe some mini game of sneaking around to not draw suspicion and if you fail you get sent back and have to wait for next night.
All in all BANGER game I will be buying just because I hope you guys continue wether more of this game and your future endeavors

I have some troble with Naomi's story ch.11, Lyriel's story ch.9 and Dreamy pool quests, because Naomi just stuck in her room every evening. I just can't do anything with her
If Naomi is stuck in her room, you may need to do other quests involving Naomi, Lyriel or other characters who would occupy the rooms that these characters need for certain quest triggers.
Can you try doing that and letting me know if it works?

This could be an issue at Itchs end! If you haven't tried a different web browser, you could try our Patreon download links. (You'll need a Patreon account, but its free to create. The latest free version is 7.15 but 7.16 should be releasing sometime soon).
Also, ensure if you have any anti-virus software to allow the download through or firewall settings. The download can be flagged as a false threat sometimes.
(2) When etherwalking to MC's world, the list of business names visible just inside the building doors on the ground floor make me wonder if we're going to end up meeting characters named Jen, Viv, Eld, Yho, Oonur, or Gilviel!
(3) I find it amusing how often, when a random book is shown, it is identifiably an old Encyclopaedia Britannica volume.
I *thought* "jötnar" looked like a plausible plural of "jotun", but I was guessing about the "eld" part. The only fire root I think I would recognize offhand from Norse would be one related to Muspelheim. Or *maybe* Surtr, though I think of that as more an individual name.

Getting exception errors on the first potion I found in the library. I don't want to give out spoilers, but it seems to be having issues with webp files for Naomi, both before and after mixing the potion. I can "ignore", but unsure how much harm that could do, so didn't save.

You are correct! You enter the amount at the top field and you'll have access to the download when you finish the payment process. You'll have access to future versions of the game as they become available here too. The donation at the bottom is completely optional and just a way to show support.
Your saves will be located in the AHITR game folder (AHITR/Game/Saves). Be sure to back up the "persistent" file too!
There's also a back up save folder in "AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AHouseintheRift" if you're having issues finding your save file.

Also so I copied the saves over to my new PC and the backup from Appdata which you mentioned and when I start the new version on my new PC the saves are there but when I click on gallery there is no scenes. Is the gallery only for Patron or? Also I am only 3 girls into the game.. Az, the Pirate and the Redhead, but have had lots of scenes so I figured there would be some in the gallery am I wrong? Firstly, thanks for supporting the game! We greatly appreciate it o/
The content is available depending on where you are in the main story and individual stories of the girls. So it might be a bit before you see content that was introduced in the latest update, for example. You just continue with your save, which carries over automatically whenever you download a new version of the game.
Unfortunately the persistent file and the gallery, when carrying over/backing up, can be really finicky sometimes. You may have to replay from an earlier save or new game to get those back into the gallery.
The gallery is not Patreon exclusive, however the code to unlock it is. The content in the gallery is unlocked by playing the game and experiencing scenes with each of the girls. Some girls might have more scenes than others.

Thanks for the reply.. A couple things.. So is there there is now way to save my gallery scenes from my previous comp and bring them to the new install on my new PC or? And a couple things about the game.. Why is there no people sound effects women or the main char noises in the lewd scenes and only music?? The game lacks there big time, and it would definitely be way more immersive for the sounds ppl should/would be making in those scenes! Also one other very confusing thing lol.. Why does Naomi a dark skinned woman have bright white areolas and nips in some nude scenes when they should be dark like her skin! It just looks very odd Lol, but when you have that dream with her all the sudden they turn dark like they should be all along in every nude scene with her!!!=)
Unfortunately, if you carried your save file and the persistent file over, but there's gallery stuff missing, you'll have to redo those scenes either by redoing them or making a new save file. If doing via new save I'd recommend skipping text and zooming through.

Naomis nipples used to be different colour due to lore reasons (Her witch blood/magic) but it confused people so it was changed at some point so you'll see old scenes with her original colour!
Your save files will carry over automatically. If you'd like to make a back up manually you can find your saves in: AHITR/Game/Saves on PC and "ahitr_storage" on Android.

Do I just click download and where it says $10 at the top of that next page I enter what I want to donate and put my email at the bottom of that page?? Lil confused bc down at the bottom when you click download and the donate window pops up it also gives you a different option to donate down at the bottom of that page so not sure which to do. Also how do I get the new file download after donating? Also I am going to be putting the new version on a different PC, so where can I find my old save files at on my other PC with this already installed on Win 7. Thanks!

You are correct! You enter the amount at the top field and you'll have access to the download when you finish the payment process. You'll have access to future versions of the game as they become available here too. The donation at the bottom is completely optional and just a way to show support.
Your saves will be located in the AHITR game folder (AHITR/Game/Saves). Be sure to back up the "persistent" file too!
There's also a back up save folder in "AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AHouseintheRift" if you're having issues finding your save file.

Thanks much for the reply, and I donated for the new version!=) New Questions.. So I don't have to start the game over for the new content right? Also so I copied the saves over to my new PC and the backup from Appdata which you mentioned and when I start the new version on my new PC the saves are there but when I click on gallery there is no scenes. Is the gallery only for Patron or? Also I am only 3 girls into the game.. Az, the Pirate and the Redhead, but have had lots of scenes so I figured there would be some in the gallery am I wrong? Do I need to copy files over for the gallery also from my old PC to my new PC to get them, and I am fine only being 3 characters into the game to get all the new content I donated for? Thanks again!!

Firstly, thanks for supporting the game! We greatly appreciate it o/
The content is available depending on where you are in the main story and individual stories of the girls. So it might be a bit before you see content that was introduced in the latest update, for example. You just continue with your save, which carries over automatically whenever you download a new version of the game.
Unfortunately the persistent file and the gallery, when carrying over/backing up, can be really finicky sometimes. You may have to replay from an earlier save or new game to get those back into the gallery.
The gallery is not Patreon exclusive, however the code to unlock it is. The content in the gallery is unlocked by playing the game and experiencing scenes with each of the girls. Some girls might have more scenes than others.

Thanks for the reply.. A couple things.. So is there there is now way to save my gallery scenes from my previous comp and bring them to the new install on my new PC or? And a couple things about the game.. Why is there no people sound effects women or the main char noises in the lewd scenes and only music?? The game lacks there big time, and it would definitely be way more immersive for the sounds ppl should/would be making in those scenes! Also one other very confusing thing lol.. Why does Naomi a dark skinned woman have bright white areolas and nips in some nude scenes when they should be dark like her skin! It just looks very odd Lol, but when you have that dream with her all the sudden they turn dark like they should be all along in every nude scene with her!!!=)

Unfortunately, if you carried your save file and the persistent file over, but there's gallery stuff missing, you'll have to redo those scenes either by redoing them or making a new save file. If doing via new save I'd recommend skipping text and zooming through.
We have lewd sounds and a voice scene in a dream and another scene with lewd sounds, which is also a dream. We look at and discuss sounds in the game every so often but its not a top priority for the game right now.
Naomis nipples used to be different colour due to lore reasons (Her witch blood/magic) but it confused people so it was changed at some point so you'll see old scenes with her original colour!

Your save files will carry over automatically. If you'd like to make a back up manually you can find your saves in: AHITR/Game/Saves on PC and "ahitr_storage" on Android.
Latest update seems to have erased saves on steam deck (linux).

Sorry to hear about your saves going missing. Sadly Linux isn't a supported OS for AHITR, so I'm unsure why they have gone missing.
You might find a backup in ~/.renpy/AHITR
