Hi. I've downloaded the android version installer, allowed storage permission and moved the .rpa file to the game directory....but the game is shutting down and quitting on it's own while only displaying "unpacking game files"

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues getting the game up and running. This might be due to a faulty .rpa download.
I'd recommend grabbing from our Patreon (we have a few mirror downloads to choose from) as the servers on Itch can be a bit hit or miss.

We do have a few dream scenes that have sounds and voice acting, but for the base game, adding sounds is not a top priority right now but something we'd like to look at down the road.

Really great game, just one question: Since the two latest major upates my quest log stays completely empty. I finished every sidequest from two updates ago - is it normal that no new quests show up? Thanks in advance for your help.

I cant seem to find new quests via roaming around the house.
Should new quests added to the game appear automatically in the questlog or do you have to trigger them somehow?
If you have no new quests in your log and your stats/lewd tracker is done, you've pretty much done all content for the current version!
Hi, i seem to be stuck on one of the tasks for lyriel in her lewdness tracker, it's the bathroom bj it tells me to help her clean the bathroom and that the conversation will touch the faucets but no matter how many times i help her nothing changes. I'm not sure if i'm missing something like a quest that i still have to do or if there are certain conditions i haven't met yet if you know please let me know it will be greatly appreciated.

You can drop the save on any file sharing site you'd like (just make sure the link isn't private).
Saves will look like "5-2-LT1".
Where your game folder is located, you'll have a "game" folder where the .exe is. Inside the "game" folder you'll have "saves".
Example: C:\AHouseInTheRift-GameVersionHere\game\saves

Deleting and replacing the .rpa is completely fine!

I think I encountered a bug with Rae's story ch. 21. When I go to sleep and wake up the next day there is a reference to a dream that didn't happen. It references a "dream-message from the friend she tried to find?" and prompts me to check on Rae in her room. Rae is making origami flowers and says that she is not in the mood to talk about it, but I have no idea what "it" is because I didn't get the dream lol.
Not sure if this is a bug or I missed a trigger somewhere.

Well, just came across the 2nd time this particular thing has happened... the first was prior to getting Lyriel, the scene with Rae where she hides under the counter to blow you. She made reference to Lyriel before she was even in the house yet. Additionally to this one that event has not happened since. It seemed like it shouldn't be a one and done. This new one is in regards to progressing Lyriel's story, after she finds out about Taena and the others and gets... volatile to say the least. She makes references to Cait and Blair "bothering her" but uh... I don't know who Blair even is yet, let alone them being in the house lmao... so I think a few flags need to be addressed with some of these ^^; it makes me regret trying to progress everyone's stories and events before progressing the main story, but that's typically how I play almost every game. I prioritize side content over main story to hopefully experience more of the game. Some events in this one do make me hold off until I do the main story, though... like I'm avoiding the Cait bday thing until I finally do the day time etherwalk stuff, in case it gives an option to do a daytime bday thing or if it requires it... I wouldn't want it to do the event when I technically shouldn't be able to.

We're aware of some continuity issues that are dotted throughout and aiming to fix those down the road.
I know it can be a bit jarring at times, especially when its a character that hasn't been introduced yet, but thankfully these instances are few, so it shouldn't happen often (hopefully).
Ya, it was just the one that kinda bothers me still because it seems like Azraesha doing the "stealth blowjob" scene shouldn't be a one and done. But I hadn't brought it up because there's still plenty of other content to do anyway. But with Lyriel's story also doing it, I figured I should bring up the 2 specific instances so that it hopefully gets fixed in some way eventually.
How to update the game? I downloaded newest file and I don't know how to update the game. Am I supposed to do something with .rpa file?

You place the new .rpa file into the "game" folder (Like you would have when you initially installed the game. Example internalstorage/documents/ahitr_storage/game
Delete the old .rpa and launch the game.

Your saves should sync up automatically if you boot up the new version, if not you could try searching in:
AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AHouseintheRift
There you should find your saves. If they don't sync to the game after booting up the new version, grab those saves and place them where the new version is by placing them in:
AHITR\game\saves

Hi! I really love the design of the house in A House in the Rift. The house itself is actually one of my favorite parts of the game.
I was wondering if there is any chance you could share the floor plans, blueprints, or perhaps a 3D model/project of the house? I would really love to try building an exact or very close real-life replica of it.
If possible, I’d also be interested in knowing what materials the house is supposed to be made of, its approximate dimensions, or any other architectural details you might have.
Of course, I completely understand if the files or plans can’t be shared. I just really like the house and would love to recreate it in real life. Thank you!

Unfortunately I don't have any assets to share or such. What I could recommend is grabbing the april fools we did a few years back, where the house was recreated in Unreal Engine. Its not very optimized so I suggest tweaking the settings.

Curious about some early Lyriel checks... does the freedom choice negate further dreams, and alternatively if you choose the lewd option instead of the good guy option will that alter events for her at all? I am debating wasting time to finish out everything else to focus on it, but it would take a lil while to do lol.

That dream doesn't play a role on future events/interactions with Lyriel, it's a contained dream that has different renders/dialogue depending on what you choose. That's about it really.
gotcha, the way it played out made it seem like if you chose to free her in that dream it wouldn't lead to the follow up dream with her in bed, tied to it. There's been a few choices that I have tried while doing her events that I figured were bad options but they still progress in a different way than I expected... the one I just got being an easy example, ordering her to read aloud in the library. I expected her to snap and storm out, but she almost seemed like she liked being ordered to do something. It makes me really curious if she has a split path on how she progresses based on how you treat her, like how if you choose to stay silent in the early options it seems to become a flag that she calls out when you suddenly give her the silent treatment again. Like it almost feels as if she has a route where you could basically train her out of the weird bratty tsundere nature she has or something.
It seems I'm in a softlock. Lyriel is stuck in her room (via Reading Club quest that requires higher stats) at the evenings so i can't ask her to visit the shower and thus level her up. For the quest.

I had a quick look with the save. That particular evening, Lyriel appears in the library for me. If you interact with her and select "Ask her to..." you should be able to select "...go take a shower".
Does she not appear in the library for you?
Oh ffs, that little gremlin... It seemed like she stopped going outside the room at all at the evenings, maybe it was just other quests overlapping.

Seein others compliment how good this is, and I gotta agree. I would even go as far as saying it's up there with stuff like Once in a Lifetime. Both are super well made and put together. Much respect for the attention to detail and fairly smooth story writing.

Since you've been played both old and new versions of the game, have you any particular favourite characters, and have those changed as the game has progressed?
So I had actually stopped playing the 0.7 version before getting Lyriel. I forget why, probably just started doing other things and forgot to get back to it like many other games lol. As for my current run through, I have been taking my time to try out different dialogue options so it's been a bit slow and I am currently doing Lyriel stuff before finally progressing to get the pool and back yard. At least I assume that's what the dream will do. I am partial to Naomi for the most part, and it's probably because of that that the ship events made me really wish there was a different way to go about the situation... because it really sucks having her feel like she was betrayed when she really wasn't. It is also really weird going from that to her default upbeat mood in her repeatable events. I did see in the gallery how there's 2 more that join the house, and one looks like a mechanic. So that will be interesting given the 4 girls are from ye olde myth n magick worlds. Will get there eventually though.

Sorry to hear about losing your save. Unfortunately if it was a full format without any backups, those saves are gone.
We do have a save with everything up to 7.4 completed. It may not be the most idea solution, but its a great starting point to get the ball rolling again.

How do you update it on android

Download the latest .rpa game file.
Place it in the "game" folder (like you would have when you installed the game for the first time).
Delete the old .rpa
Launch the game! Saves sync over automatically.
I don't remember the file the folder it was
Documters > ahitr_storage > game.
Move the new rpa file into that folder and delete the older one. Fairly simple unless you changed where the file is. Maybe even just in the downloads folder.

If you're using the Itch Launcher, you can directly download from here instead if you'd like. Download, unzip and run.
Saves will sync over automatically.
Updates/New versions take a tad bit longer to release on Itch. If you'd like to obtain the free version as soon as you can, I'd recommend checking out our Patreon release. It requires a Patreon account (free to create if you don't have one already).

Saves should syn over from your Itch version too. In the rare case is doesn't.
Go to where AHITR is located on your system. In the "game" folder you'll find "saves" - You can copy or move that folder over to the location, in the same place, if your saves don't sync.

Have this habit of saving for event choices, and a weird thing with my brain where I remember game related info really well. So it's been neat to see how even the start of the game has changed. Some subtle stuff like grammar and spelling, though there are still some weird spots. But even the lighting and character looks have been updated. A lot of the animations have even been smoothed out, though like the grammar and spelling some need to be smoothed out still (like Cait's morning BJ, it's still a bit clippy). Even feel like a couple things have been outright changed here n there. So, ya, it's been a good time so far.
There has been some revamping of the earlier renders/animations, and some of the systems too.
Grammar is something we try to catch before the main release, but can slip through the cracks, but will come back around to down the road.
Glad to hear its been a pleasant experience overall though!
